Creative Update 41

Hi All! I am Chris Johnson and I work as a Manager in the Anaheim, CA office. Here are some of my current creative interests:

Cherubim

I am an obsessed bicyclist, and really enjoy building bicycles.
The annual North American Handmade Bicycle Show recently concluded in Denver.
The popularity of this show illustrates that this 150 year old invention continues to inspire and evolve.
Exotic frame materials of carbon fiber, titanium, bamboo, and common ones of aluminum and steel, are transformed by dedicated craftsmen into moving works of art.

Maurice Sendak
Dear to many of us, the genius of iconic American illustrator Maurice Sendak is being displayed in Santa Ana at the Bowers museum.

Maurice Sendak: 50 Years ● 50 Works ● 50 Reasons – is a comprehensive memorial exhibition of 50 select works by the late artist supplemented with accompanying comments by celebrities, authors and noted personalities – celebrating the 50th anniversary of the publishing of the universally revered “Where the Wild Things Are”.

Lynch

Director David Lynch’s recently produced a short documentary on the art of lithography at the Idem Paris fine-art printing studio.
Idem studio was originally built by the printer Emile Dufrenoy in 1880, as a space to install his lithographic presses.

The film is full of vivid imagery and sounds, while empty of narration.
