Hello there, I’m Tanya Gamarian and I’m a web designer in Glendale. I’m excited to share a few of my recent creative interests with you all!
One of my biggest passions is comedy, so I am very excited about this event. Riot LA is Los Angeles’s first alternative comedy festival. It’s going to be held on an entire block of downtown LA this weekend, featuring some of my favorite comedians such as Paul F. Tompkins, Patton Oswalt, Stephen Merchant, Maria Bamford, and so much more. http://riotla.com/
Seeing James Blake perform at FYF Fest a few weeks ago was an amazing experience. Hailing from London his music is like nothing I’ve heard before, combining electronic music with soul and just a sprinkle of wubs (dubstep). Check out one of his songs here: http://vimeo.com/15624524
9/25 Beach House at The Wiltern
10/2 The Shinsat Gibson Amphitheatre
10/4 Patrick Wolf at The Bootleg Theater
10/13 David Byrne & St. Vincent
If you’re a fan of pop-art, this art gallery on Melrose is a must. I had a wonderful time viewing the Arrested Development gallery in June, and I’m looking forward to seeing the upcoming exhibits.
I have no words to describe how amazing the food is at this lovely pub on Melrose. Not too fancy, not a dump, just amazing food in a calm atmosphere. I recommend the pub burger or the steak & potato pie.

If you guys want to do something art-related, there’s Giant Robot’s Biennial show at the Japanese American National Museum in Little Tokyo. It’s this Saturday night. My friend Albert Reyes is in the show, and is creating a scary, walk-thru maze that is sure to be a crowd pleaser. DJ/ Musician Money Mark will be performing there at 7:30 p.m, too.
Go, and make me jealous.
