My name is Sayon Syprasoeuth, my interests are a bit eclectic.
I’m always keeping an eye open for something new and interesting to explore. Here are some I hope you find useful and get you out and expand your horizon.
The Museum of Jurassic Technology (Los Angeles, CA)
This place is a small gem of a museum. Beware, it doesn’t look like a museum from outside or inside, but go and discover all those goodies of “art” science and art in one. http://www.mjt.org/
(museum background, from wikipedia)
The Museum of Jurassic Technology is an educational institution dedicated to the advancement of knowledge. Located at 9341 Venice Boulevard in the Palms district of Los Angeles, California, the Museum holds a specialized repository of relics and artifacts evoking some of the more obscure and poetic aspects of natural history, the history of technology and science, and their entwined realizations in human artistry and ingenuity. It was founded by David Hildebrand Wilson and Diana Drake Wilson (husband and wife) in 1987.
If you like music and art, check this festival out! This is their 10th year anniversary show – and it should be a blast! (by the way, I’m showing 2 sculptures).
A hole-in-the-wall place, with world class performers inside, teaching free Khmer classical dance, they also bring in performers from other part of the US and Cambodia.
Prumsodun Ok, the Director (and my friend) will have his ensemble from Cambodia perform Saturday, October 13th at Long Beach Arts Museum 10th Year Anniversary. http://www.lbma.org/index.html
Locations for hiking trails in California, I wish I had more time to check out these places. For those of you that can, enjoy!
A ‘hole-in-the-wall’ family own restaurant — authentic Thai/Laotion food, great food and price! I’m so glad they are still small. They used to have only two tables for four people — it was mostly take-outs. Now they can seat 25.
10262 Westminster Avenue, Garden Grove, CA Ph. (714) 530-7523
Thai Nakorn (Garden Grove, CA)
Thai restaurant with good authentic Thai food, with 3 locations, I like this location best — mainly for the atmosphere.
12532 West Garden Grove Boulevard, Garden Grove, CA
Ph. (714) 583-8938 ()
Another ‘hole-in-the-wall’ own by a husband and wife team, this place has amazing food and price — vegetarian or not the food is delicious! My favorite dish is “beef” salad with brown rice.
1740 South Euclid Street Anaheim, CA 92804 Ph. 714-490-0242
Hours: 10am-2pm 5pm-9:00pm
