Hi there my name is Loren Sepulveda and I’m a Graphic Artist in Anaheim. I just want to thank Andreas for giving me the opportunity to share some of my favorites. I am kind of an LA junkie and I pretty much grew up there so most of my contributions are LA based.
So here goes… I am a lover of all things craft/handmade. And I thought I’d share some of the recent upspring of these indie craft fairs that are popping up all over the place. Selling independent goods, collected wares, up-cycled goods and food, every booth is a chance to encounter something you won’t find in at your typical mall. Some/most are surrounded by live music and food trucks. It’s the perfect way to discover the city’s creative spirit. I have attended a lot of these this summer and some have already passed and won’t be coming around until next year, but I actually found some in OC that are right around the corner. Be sure to check them out and I guarantee you’ll be surprised by what you can find.
Also great place to shop if you love all things craft/handmade is etsy, they have anything and everything you can think of handmade
Or if you want to learn some crafting skills here is a good place in LA you can take classes.
Once a month, the entire Natural History Museum stays open until 10 pm and features live music, exciting scientific discussion, and behind-the-scenes curatorial tours.
Just one of my passions… I’ve just got too many to name…. but these have been on repeat all summer.
Cat Power – new LONG awaited Album coming out Sept. 4th
One of my other passions that I share with my musically inclined family is live concerts (mostly indie/rock music)
This particular fest has a combination of some of the latest up and coming bands and some older favorites. Happening this coming weekend and this year we get a 2 days full day of awesome Bands, Art and Food.
This is one of my all time favorite places to eat pizza. Tip: if you are ordering a Chicago Deep Dish Pizza call ahead and place your order 30 minutes before arriving (worth the wait if you don’t). Everything is great in this place, especially the vegetarian “California Vegetable” along with a large Honey Blonde Ale, and then end it with the best bread pudding ever made. Service is wonderful too.
Another one of my all time favorite places to have organic coffee and dessert/lunch, although this website doesn’t do it justice… their food (Tomato Basil quiche, matcha green tea latte, and tiramisu) are amazing and you should look at the pictures in the yelp just to see how enticing these places really are.
And lastly but definitely not the least, I get daily emailed inspiration from this website and I believe it has fantastic things to share with all.
