Creative Update 14

Happy Friday, all!!

I’m not very creative, but I’ll give it a shot…enjoy?

Moto cool

I love classic motorcycles, especially café racers.  Deus Ex Machina is an Australian based company that builds beautiful custom motorbikes and is devoted to spreading “its own flavor of internally combustible postmodernism around the globe”.  They opened a shop in Venice beach, that is a mixture of a bike showroom, café, surf shop and clothing boutique.  Can’t wait to go visit:

Art things
For a lil semi self-promotion, check out http://joecariati.com/.  Joe is a motorcycle riding friend of mine who is also an amazing glass blower and is literally blowin’ up right now.  My wife also built his website.  He just opened up a new studio in El Segundo.  If you watch the video on the homepage, he’s the guy with the full sleeve tattoos.

Bidness
More and more small businesses are utilizing Facebook to reach their customers, even selling their products through Facebook.  This article does a good job explaining how businesses can optimize their Facebook presence:

Design this
And one for the designers in the house…
Webdesignfan.com is a great web design blog that contains design inspiration, tutorials and tools.  Here’s some of their typography inspiration:  http://webdesignfan.com/typography-poster-design-inspiration/

Musica
Nick Waterhouse is playing a free show (minus parking) at the Getty this Saturday from 6 – 9pm.  He’s an incredible upcoming soul singer/musician from LA.  I’ll be there!
Check it!
